About the Role
To support our rapid growth, we are looking for a Sr. Developer Relations to join our growth team and drive our developer education strategy.
Voiceflow is a powerful tool that enables the design and launch of complex conversational assistants. With the recent adoption of large language models like GPT, we have seen significant growth in the variety and complexity of development use cases with Voiceflow, as well as a naturally expanding developer community. We are seeking a Developer Advocate who is passionate about teaching, building projects with new technology, and eager to drive the growth of our education strategy.Education at Voiceflow is a core component of the Growth Team and the larger product organisation.
The Sr. Developer Relations reports to the Head of Growth and is responsible for developing and maintaining our education strategy and platform, with a specific focus on developer education and engagement.Your focus will be on creating content that demonstrates how to build and deploy powerful assistants using Voiceflow, collaborating with engineering teams to develop and maintain our API documentation, and coordinating with product and marketing teams to ensure our design documentation is up-to-date. You will play a significant role in shaping the future of our education strategy and influencing how our education team evolves.
What You’ll Do
- Create written and video based content that enables users to build and deploy powerful AI agents using Voiceflow’s API’s
- Collaborate with the growth team to identify areas to drive new developer adoption for Voiceflow
- Actively engaging with and supporting our developer community on discord and improving our developer documentation
- Supporting our growth engineer in the creation of tutorials and content around new and existing integrations from our examples repo
- Build and maintain conceptual and task-based technical documentation for Voiceflow’s APIs
- Coordinate with the product team to maintain and enhance our existing education content
- Oversee and manage our education platform to ensure its adoption with customers, usability, and ease of navigation
About You
- You are a developer. You have experience writing and deploying code to production environments. You’re excited to have time in your week to write code. You have a strong familiarity with Javascript and are flexible with learning new languages.
- You are a creator. You enjoy learning about new technologies and experimenting with them.
- You are a teacher. You know how to explain complex concepts in an easy to understand manner and enjoy helping people create and master new skill sets.
- You have experience writing technical documentation for a developer audience, particularly API documentation, guides, and release notes.
- You are comfortable being in front of a camera and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Our Process
- Application — All candidates will hear back, either to move ahead and schedule an interview or to let you know we aren't moving ahead. No ghosting!
- Role Screening Call - a 30-minute call with Daniel (Head of Growth) to learn more about the role, our company and align on expectations for the role.
- Take Home Assignment - Build and deploy something interesting on Voiceflow and connect it to an interface of your choice using our Dialogue Manager API. Create a tutorial for it and explain how Voiceflow conceptually works.
- Technical Interview - A technical interview with a member of our engineering team/
- Final Interview - you’ll have the chance to meet with Braden (CEO) to learn more about the future of Voiceflow.
- Offer — this is the part where we all celebrate!
Logistics
- Location — we are located in Toronto and operate on a Hybrid model where our team comes into the office 1-2 days per week.
- Timeline — we are aiming to have our process completed and an offer made by early November 2024.
