Part-Time Studio Host (Contract)

Blink UX is looking for an enthusiastic, high-energy person to join our team in a multifaceted part-time, contract Studio Host role. This person needs to have exceptional communication and organizational skills; a strong work ethic and an upbeat personality; as well as experience with high-touch customer service. This role will require a flexible work schedule. The contract will run from August 2024 through September with the potential to extend. This position is part-time and located in our San Diego Office where you can enjoy a beautiful office space with a great team culture. 

What you will be doing:


  • Host:
  • Monitor security: sign in and sign out participants and clients; keep track of who is in the space; monitor guest use of restricted areas. 
  • Prepare paperwork for research participants. 
  • Act as on-site client liaison during research studies. 
  • Host research studies by greeting and signing in respondents with a welcoming attitude. 
  • Track the show rate of participants. 
  • Handle gratuities for research participants. 
  • Work to ensure on-site clients have an exceptional experience while visiting: including high-touch customer service and meal prep 
  • General Office Management: 
  • Responsible for daily organization: furniture arrangement; cleanliness of client rooms and labs.
  • Monitor office and break room supplies and order them as necessary. 
  • Prepare conference rooms for client visits and clean up when finished. 
  • Arrange lunch for client visitors and meetings. 
  • Responsible for helping keep the break room organized and clean: load and unload dishwasher. 
  • Stock fruit, snacks and drinks. 
  • Support Lab Manager, research teams and office staff with administrative tasks as needed. 
  • Help to coordinate and assist with office celebrations and events: including daytime and nighttime events. 
  • Receptionist: 
  • Greet office visitors. 
  • Distribute mail. 
  • Know when and which clients are visiting: find out and prepare for their needs while visiting.
  • Ensure each Blink visitor has an exceptional experience. 

What we are looking for:


  • 1 + year(s) of experience as an administrative assistant, receptionist, or related customer service type of work. 
  • Experience with Google Docs, Google Sheets is a plus.  
  • Comfortable working with technology.  
  • Additional experience in high-touch hospitality is ideal. 
  • Must have a professional, positive, and friendly demeanor. Calm under pressure and able to adjust and pivot in a changing environment. 
  • Business casual; present oneself in a professional manner. 
  • Strong customer service skills and communication skills.  
  • Self-managed and well-organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Great attention to detail, able to anticipate needs, and enjoy helping people.  
  • Flexible schedule. 
  • Willing and able to lift 10-25 lbs (there may be a need to move lab furniture and deliveries.) 
  • Willing and able to use stairs.  

$20 - $22 an hour
