As a data-driven organization, our mission is to transform healthcare, but more specifically patient communications through innovative data solutions.We are seeking a skilled and motivated Analytics Engineer to join our Data team. This role will be pivotal in revamping and implementing our Looker platform, enhancing our data visualization capabilities, and addressing legacy issues in our current system. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver timely, accurate, and actionable insights to both internal and external stakeholders.The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of optimizing SQL queries and improving report performance. They will be motivated by the opportunity to work in a data-driven environment where their contributions directly influence business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Dashboard Development: Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards using Looker and other data visualization tools to meet the needs of various stakeholders.
- Looker Implementation: Partner with the team to revamp and implement a new Looker instance, focusing on improving performance and user experience.
- Data Modeling: Develop and maintain robust data models to support reporting and analytics needs.
- Customer Requests: Collaborate with Customer Experience (CX) teams to understand and fulfill data requests, adding filters, dimensions, and other enhancements as needed.
- Performance Improvement: Refactor existing reports to improve load times and overall performance, ensuring efficient data delivery.
- Collaboration: Work with DevOps and other engineering teams to unify data delivery.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, dashboards, and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM preferred *additional experience in lieu of a degree is also accepted
- 2+ years of experience in a data-related role such as Analytics Engineer, BI Engineer, Data Analyst, or a similar position.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with a scripting language (Python preferred).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and deal with ambiguity.
Bonus
- Experience with data visualization tools, ideally Looker.
- Familiarity with Snowflake and data warehousing concepts.
$97,000 - $133,000 a yearThe compensation for this role will be based on level of experience and the geographic tier in which you are located. This position also comes with equity and a variety of benefits.Tier 1 Salary: $107,000 - $133,000Non-Tier 1 Salary: $97,000 - $120,000
LOCATION
Artera values in-person collaboration and is currently hiring in the following US cities: Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, San Francisco/Bay Area, Kansas City, and Philadelphia (Wayne). Artera HQ is in Santa Barbara, CA, and we have an additional US office located in Philadelphia (Wayne), PA. If you live in the Santa Barbara or Philadelphia area, your role will be hybrid and you will be required to work out of your designated office location 3 days a week, unless otherwise noted in the job requirements. If you live in Los Angeles, San Francisco/Bay Area, or Kansas City, your role will be remote to start.
As our team continues to grow in these cities, Artera will be considering opening offices in these locations. Once that happens, you will be required to work out of your designated office location 3 days a week, unless otherwise noted in the job requirements.
