Description
As the Senior Instructional Designer you will be responsible for creating engaging and effective learning materials for our member-facing employees. You will work closely with cross-functional partners in product, marketing, and planning to design, develop, and train on instructional content that enhances understanding, retention, and application of key information and technology.
Responsibilities:
Content Development
- Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning courses, video tutorials, user guides, and interactive training modules for our member-facing employees
- Create clear, concise, and engaging content that aligns with learning objectives and user needs
- Ensure all instructional materials are visually engaging and aligned with Facet’s brand
Needs Assessment
- Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and determine training requirements for various department audience
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information and insights necessary for effective content development
Instructional Design
- Apply instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create effective and engaging learning experiences
- Develop storyboards, scripts, and prototypes to outline content flow and structure
- Use multimedia tools and software to enhance the delivery of content
Evaluation and Improvement
- Implement assessment and evaluation methods to measure the effectiveness of training programs
- Analyze performance data and use it to continuously improve materials
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with department leads, SMEs, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the relevance and accuracy of content
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in instructional design, preferably within the consumer technology sector
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and SCORM standards
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and learning theories (e.g., constructivism, cognitivism)
- Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and e-learning development
- Proficiency with authoring tools: Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively
- Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry/business and products
