Position Overview:
We are looking for a MongoDB Consulting Engineer to provide expert guidance and recommendations to our clients remotely. This role involves participating in consulting sessions, analyzing client requirements, and offering tailored solutions and best practices related to MongoDB and PostgreSQL implementations and optimizations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in both MongoDB and PostgreSQL, the ability to interpret code, and excellent written communication skills to deliver comprehensive consulting reports.
Key Qualifications:
- Strong technical proficiency in MongoDB and PostgreSQL with the ability to consult on best practices and optimizations.
- Experience in reading and interpreting code to provide recommendations for performance and efficiency.
- Excellent written communication skills to articulate recommendations and findings in consulting reports.
- Familiarity with DevOps and database administration concepts, although the role does not involve direct DBA or DevOps duties.
- Ability to work remotely and effectively collaborate with clients and internal teams.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and client satisfaction.
PostgreSQL Administration Qualifications:
- Proven experience in PostgreSQL administration, covering installation, configuration, and maintenance in production environments, including performance tuning and optimization.
- Expertise in database backup and recovery strategies, security implementation, high availability solutions, and automation scripting.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and maintain comprehensive documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Attend remote consulting sessions with MongoDB and PostgreSQL clients to understand their requirements and challenges.
- Analyze client codebases and configurations to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Provide expert recommendations and best practices tailored to each client's needs and goals for both MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
- Document findings and recommendations in comprehensive consulting reports for client reference.
- Collaborate with internal teams to share insights and contribute to ongoing knowledge sharing and improvement initiatives.
Success Measures:
The MongoDB and PostgreSQL Consulting Engineer will be successful in this role when:
- Clients receive valuable insights and recommendations leading to improved MongoDB and PostgreSQL implementations and performance.
- Consulting reports are thorough, clear, and effectively communicate recommendations to clients.
- Positive feedback is received from clients regarding the quality and impact of the consulting sessions and recommendations.
Location:
This is a remote role based in the United States.
Contract Duration:
This is a 9-month contract position with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
