Equipment Technician

Position:
We are looking for an Equipment Technician with equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance (PM) experience from R&D to pilot line. This candidate will bring in technical skills to install & validate new equipment, standardize tool troubleshooting procedure, and establish PM structure at Coreshell. This individual will also be the first responder to equipment related issues and be the equipment owner to ensure effective and safe battery manufacturing. This is a crucial role to the company to fulfill both short-term and long-term battery cell deliveries.
Core Responsibilities
:
- Perform new equipment installation, validation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Apply root cause analysis (RCA) techniques to resolve equipment breakdown and minimize tools downtime.
- Establish communication flow within the company to ensure personnel can be dispatched for problem solving.
- Structure PMs needed for each piece of equipment and draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) for training.
- Perform PMs on all required lab & pilot line equipment.
- Manage mechanical and electrical spare parts list and be the point of contact for ordering.
- Work with Battery team to support innovative equipment change for battery production.
- Use manufacturing executive system or work management software to track the progress of equipment work.
- Follow all safety procedures (LOTO, 5S, hazwaste, Arc Flash, etc).
Required experience:
- Background in equipment maintenance is required.
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, and mechatronic troubleshooting is required.
- Background in battery manufacturing processes, like roll-to-roll coating, slitting, welding, electrolyte filling, etc, is a plus.
- Experience in modifying & reviewal of mechanical and electrical drawings is a plus.
- Experience with machine shop to perform parts modification and machining.
- Familiarity with chemistry lab safety protocols. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining safe, tidy and organized work areas.
Required Qualifications:
- A B.S. degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering OR experience in a similarly relevant field with 2+ years of industrial experience.
- Available to perform shift and overtime if necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
Location & Benefits:
San Leandro, CA. Full-time. Hourly rate is $26.00 - $50.00 per hour with additional stock incentives dependent on experience. Salary and equity options depend on experience. Dental, vision, healthcare and 401(k) benefits are included. Applications will be screened as received.
