We are actively expanding our Operations team in North America, and are looking to hire multiple individuals to join Megaport’s Global Operations team!About The RoleWe want you to enable our global Sales and Engineering teams by supporting our data center and network partnership strategy and negotiations. You are our subject matter expert in all things related to global network and data center expansion. In this role you will work closely with our Sales team and prospective data center partners to do site selection, network sourcing, contract and deal term negotiations and ultimately bridge the gap between our engineering and finance teams.

You will also work closely with our Engineering team to ensure that our global supplier base is robust and diverse to ensure that we have supply chain relationships in place when and where we need them. Your contribution to the Sales and Engineering team will be instrumental to ensuring we can expand new and existing network and data center infrastructure quickly and when we need it.The most important attributes that we look for is a self-starter mentality, high organization and expert follow-up, expert contract negotiations skills, the ability to collaborate across multiple business units (Sales, Engineering, Legal, Finance), creativity, a collaborative spirit, and a desire to change the status quo and have fun. We want you to execute Megaport’s global terraforming strategy.

What You'll Doing


  • Execute a sourcing & network expansion strategy for colocation, metro dark fiber, and licensing activities for the region
  • Identify and pursue cost savings opportunities, to include building creative commercial terms with new partners as well as managing the global vendor and partner portfolio
  • Support positive business relationships with all Megaport team members to drive the network expansion strategy and initiatives of the company
  • Overlay onto all field sales discussions with DCO and network partners impacting critical infrastructure to driving deal negotiations, site selection, & network procurement strategy
  • Align with CFO to supply data supporting a global COGS waterfall and manage POs
  • Manage existing network and data center supplier portfolio, including forging relationships with new regional operators to ensure vendor and network diversity, reduced COGS
  • Ensure that capacity is delivered and in place on time and according to our customer demands
  • Design and implement standard processes and deploy best practices across departments to ensure on-time delivery of Megaport’s product into new locations as well as optimizing costs in existing locations
  • Work closely with Engineering, Deployment, Legal, and Finance to ensure swift delivery of the Megaport BOM into new locations and markets
  • Align with Executive team to ensure suppliers remain focused on our mutual goals, have scalability to support our changing requirements and identify opportunities where we could move our relationships beyond a buy/sell and into a strategic partnership

What We Are Looking For


  • Expert level understanding of global data center, network, and interconnection market
  • Strategic global contract negotiations experience in either the networking, dark fiber, or data center space
  • Hardware procurement experience is a bonus
  • Experience in network and server deployments is also a bonus but the ability to understand large scale network deployment and supply chain is critical
  • Consultative selling skills with an understanding of cloud computing and virtual private networking.  While this is not a sales position, the ability to sell and articulate creative commercial arrangements with our network and datacenter partners is imperative to the role.
  • High energy, collaborative, and ability to work across sales, engineering, finance, and legal verticals
  • Expert communication, presentation, and time management skills
  • Must track activity and manage opportunity tasks and projects in Asana
  • Must work successfully in a remote, globally distributed team environment
  • 5+ years of highly successful business development or strategic sourcing experience

$195,000 - $225,000 a year**Please note that as per the Fair Labor Standard Act this role is classified as exempt under Administration Exemption**#LI-DNI
