Renewable Properties is actively seeking a highly skilled Interconnection Manager with three to five years of experience in leading electrical interconnection and delivery strategies for our generation projects. This pivotal role plays a critical part in supporting project development, construction, and origination efforts. Responsibilities include overseeing interconnection processes, conducting pertinent studies, coordinating with utilities, managing project milestones, and guiding the initial engineering phases of solar, battery energy storage, and EV site projects across the United States. Reporting directly to the Director of Interconnection within our Development Team, this position involves supervising external consultants, reviewing technical deliverables, and coordinating comprehensive submittal packages for utilities. Additionally, the role requires seamless collaboration with internal and external project stakeholders, such as Construction Managers, EPC contractors, legal advisors, and Asset Management. Furthermore, the position will occasionally oversee development-related due diligence for project M&A opportunities.

Responsibilities:


  • Uses all available information to assess the optimal interconnection location in target markets to accommodate viable interconnection and estimate costs and schedule associate with the proposed interconnection.
  • Submits interconnection requests and is the primary point of contact with utilities throughout the interconnection process and construction of the facility.
  • Manage all project queue positions and track interconnection processes, study timing, schedule impact and interconnect requests.
  • Negotiate interconnection study results and interconnection agreements with utilities toward favorable project outcomes.
  • Coordinate efforts to meet all interconnection requirements including interconnection applications, interconnection studies, interconnection agreements, and post-IA project execution milestones.
  • Manages engineering to complete the interconnection designs and updates.
  • Coordinates closely with multiple internal and external partners (site acquisition manager, developers, construction, utilities, and engineers) to assist with the interconnection process.
  • Serve as the company representative at stakeholder meetings and track tariff changes, and interconnection reform.
  • Maintains company interconnection process and procedure manual.
  • Performs acquisition due diligence to identify project-level interconnection execution risk.

Qualifications:


  • 3 -5 years’ experience in renewable energy interconnection and/or transmission planning.
  • Proactive communicator and driven to advance team and company goals.
  • Experience managing budgets and processes.
  • Rigorous attention to detail, work ethic, personal responsibility, work product ownership, and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, public speaking, and influencing abilities coupled with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve time-sensitive issues with precision.
  • Driven, resourceful, and comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Travel required as needed.
  • Energy, planning, real estate, engineering, or business-related master’s degree is a plus.
