A commercial director oversees an organization’s business strategies, sales, and marketing efforts in South Africa. They focus on driving revenue, building partnerships, and ensuring the company’s overall commercial success. Responsibilities include developing sales plans, managing budgets, and collaborating with various departments to achieve business objectives.***This is a remote position based in Capetown, South Africa.What You Will Do
- Regional Commercial Leadership: Assume responsibility for designing and executing commercial planes
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute commercial strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
- Sales Management: Oversee sales teams, set targets, and implement sales plans to achieve revenue goals.
- Marketing Leadership: Guide marketing efforts, ensuring effective campaigns and brand positioning.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
- Financial Management: Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial performance related to commercial activities.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development and operations, to ensure a cohesive approach.
- Customer Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with key clients and address customer needs.
- Negotiation: Lead negotiations for contracts, deals, and agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of commercial initiatives.
- Innovation: Encourage and implement innovative approaches to enhance products, services, and market presence.
- Compliance: Ensure that commercial activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

What You Bring
- Significant experience in traditional trade analytics, market measurement, and retail execution
- Experience managing high performing teams to achieve aggressive growth targets
- Demonstrable experience as the primary point of contact for key customers among strategic accounts across the region
- Experience in a role where work is often driven by project due dates
- Tracking accounts and opportunities in Salesforce
- Data analysis and data-driven decision making
- Ability to learn new technology tools quickly
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
