About The Role
As the Director of Global Sourcing, you will lead Megaport’s colocation and metro dark fiber purchasing efforts worldwide. You will be responsible for supporting activities related to Megaport’s global expansion to include vendor management, licensing for regional expansion, and will work closely with all members of the team. You will be a hands-on contributor in a high impact, globally distributed organisation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Establish and execute a sourcing strategy for colocation, metro dark fibre, and licensing activities for all global operating regions.
- Develop and support positive business relationships with all internal team members, including team members with responsibility for executing and reporting spend activities.
- Align with Executives to develop and supply data to support a global COGS workbook.
- Identify, pursue, and report on savings opportunities, process and service enhancements across global vendor portfolio.
- Design and implement standard processes and deploy best practices across departments.
- Work closely with Engineering and Provisioning teams to ensure swift delivery of the Megaport stamp into new markets.
- Develop standard supplier agreement negotiation points, supplier management best practices, and procurement policies.
- Align with the Executive team to ensure suppliers remain focused on our mutual goals, have scalability to support our changing requirements, and identify opportunities where we could move our relationships beyond a buy/sell and into a strategic partnership.
What We Are Looking For
- Experienced. 3+ years of procurement and sales experience with a technology company. Experience should include corporate meetings and events, and/or meetings industry experience, with demonstrated success in developing and executing global sourcing strategies and vendor management.
- Leader. Confident in managing and executing projects from start to finish in an independent work environment. You are comfortable with addressing and resolving issues quickly and asking for support when you need it.
- Go-Getter. Excellent negotiation skills, with a demonstrable track record of high performance in sourcing activities. Also, willingness to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic and resourceful with the ability to successfully balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines. You are also not afraid to challenge the status quo.
- Strong communication and presentation skills. Top notch communicator and presenter – both written and verbally. Ability to communicate concisely and effectively with senior leadership, internal team members, and outside vendors.
- Flexible. Understand what it takes to work in a globally distributed environment and able to manage your schedule around the hours it takes to get the job done.
- Technically Savvy. Strong interest and experience working with technology, including new software tools and industry changing products.
- A True Team Player. You have an upbeat positive attitude even when faced with challenges, you are solution oriented, and above all you are a great team player.
$180,000 - $225,000 a year**Please note that as per the Fair Labor Standard Act this role is classified as exempt under Administration Exemption**#LI-DNI
