Job duties will be varied and include gathering and analyzing medical records, processing discovery, trial preparation, and working alongside our personal injury attorneys. The candidate we're looking for must be reliable, detail oriented, excel in a team environment but also be able to work independently in a busy and growing office.The candidate will be responsible for handling cases from inception through resolution.
The position entails daily contact with clients, attorneys, insurance adjustors, and medical providers.Responsibilities
- Conduct initial client consultations and gather information to support personal injury claims.
- Collect and organize evidence, including medical records, police reports, and witness statements.
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other parties involved in the case.
- Keep track of deadlines and ensure all necessary paperwork is filed in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of settlement demand packages and negotiating settlements with insurance companies.
- Attend depositions, mediations, and court hears as needed.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure all client communications are documented.
- Provide general support to the attorney handling the case, including scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars.
- Prepare trial notebooks and assist in other trial preparation.
- Help train Legal Assistant to complete administrative tasks.
Experience and Professional Qualifications
- 1-5 years of experience.
- Advanced knowledge of the legal process.
- Paralegal certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of the legal industry.
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
- Strategic thinker with a results driven mentality.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
