Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for various day-to day human resources functions. This includes a variety of responsibilities such as: administrative functions, recruiting and onboarding, workers’ compensation, safety team planning, and benefits administration. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions. Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation
- Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Educate and communicate company personnel policies and procedures to newly hired and current employees
- Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
- Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.
- Respond to human resources-related inquiries.
- Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
- In conjunction with the human resource team, ensure company compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements.
- Assist in the analysis and modification of benefit offerings to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions and helping resolve work-related problems.
- In conjunction with the human resource team advise managers on organizational policy matters, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Answer questions regarding benefits eligibility and other pertinent information
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
- Previous Human Resources or Office Management experience preferred
- Ability to work independently with little supervision required
- Ability to remain calm while working under pressure in a busy environment
- Ability to work within timeframe of standard policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information
- Knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations
- Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point is essential
- Exhibit extraordinary discretion, confidentiality, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with our team
