Contract/Closeout Specialist to provide contract support services in support of the Acquisition/Analytics Directorate at the Navy Medical Logistics Command (NMLC). The NMLC Contract Specialist will perform a broad range of contract support services, including assistance with contract closeout, receipt control, administrative modifications, as well as various clerical and technical work in support of NMLC. The ideal candidate must have working knowledge of federal procurement regulations and policies and must be able to quickly grasp procurement terms, methodologies, and processes, prepare contract files and associated electronic documentation.Job Duties:
- Support the NMLC with contract closeout, administration and modification actions for non-personal services and equipment type contracts
- Coordinate with the supplier of the services/equipment/supplies and other staff within NMLC as well as external customers to ensure a contract is ready for closeout
- Coordinate with the Naval Hospital locations to de-obligate any funds left on the contract when eligible for closeout
- Archive hard copy and/or electronic records, documents, and supporting documents in the contract writing system
- Follow-up on expired task orders and contracts, track delivery by the vendors and acceptance by the Government
- Track payment and assist the vendors and/or customers with payment problems or issues
- Distribute approved documents IAW NMLC SOP and provide post-award assistance to ensure accurate closeout
- Perform other data entry and administrative tasks as needed (e.g., copying, filing, populating spreadsheets, databases, etc.)
- Perform records holding to include organizing, pulling, and boxing files to be shipped off-site
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience with Federal and DoD acquisition procedures and governing regulations preferred
- Strong technical writing skills and verbal communication
- Experience providing administrative support services to include organizing, prioritizing, and completing multiple tasks in a specified timeframe required
- Experience in data entry on electronic systems (including automated procurement systems, a variety of computer software applications, and office automation keyboarding/typing skills)
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university/college in a Business or Business Management field preferred
