Honeybee Robotics is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer II/III to join our world-class manufacturing team in Longmont, CO. Our Manufacturing Engineers develop, evaluate, and improve industrial manufacturing methods of high-precision aerospace assemblies by utilizing their knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards to build complex assemblies successfully.
Responsibilities
- Works with the design team to improve designs for manufacturability and assembly.
- Develops new manufacturing processes and trains the clean room team to execute successfully.
- Directs the design and fabrication of custom tooling for manufacturing processes.
- Analyzes new equipment and provides business justification for acquiring it.
- Procures new equipment to support production.
- Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow. Designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
- Confers with vendors to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts.
- Participate in teams using quality control tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC), VSM, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to reduce process variation and process improvement evaluation.
- Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.
- Participates in failure investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- May provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to a subordinate group
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Ability to perform work under general supervision.
- Ability to handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Possesses solid working knowledge of the subject matter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing hands-on support to manufacturing in the assembly of complex PCBAs (SMT and through-hole technology), component staking and conformal coating, Electronic sub-assemblies, and box level/controller final assemblies.
- Desired knowledge in automating in-process PCBA testing.
- Experience with Ionograph Testing and Spray/ Automated Conformal Coating.

Our compensation strategy takes into account various factors, including education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market alignment.
