1st Shift (Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm)
We are seeking an experienced machinist that will be responsible for operating lathes, mills, grinding equipment, and measuring tools. The ideal candidate should be a skilled craftsman in this field. Duties and responsibilities:
- Read blueprints and perform set-ups.
- Make fixtures on machinery.
- Troubleshoot machinery when there is a process issue.
- Produce parts with hand tools to exact specifications.
- Complete finishing operations and quality inspections for our products.
- Follow all company safety policies and practices.
Required qualifications:
- At least two years of prior experience machining of the following equipment, or equivalent combination of experience and education is required:
- Mazatrol
- Manual and CNC lathes
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to use inspection equipment, such as micrometers and calipers, and ability to read blueprints.
- Willingness to learn and help out in other areas of production.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Team oriented and communication skills.
- Strong math and computer skills.
- Must be a motivated self-starter and be able to work independently.
- Ability to work overtime, sometimes on short notice.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Desired qualifications:
- Experience with the following is a plus:
- Knee Mill / Bridgeport
- Production machining with a highly variable product range (e.g. 1 to 6 unit batch sizes)
- Surface grinding
- Manufacturing and/or technical experience.
- Apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis.
- Stand for 4+ hours a day.
- Willingness to use appropriate PPE.
