Sustainable Energy Product Development Leader
The Sustainable Energy Product Development Leader serves as the business development lead for Guild’s growing business in sustainable / renewable / waste-to-energy programs, focusing on design/build/operate projects in the renewable biogas, renewable power, and alternative fuels markets. We want to achieve renewable energy goals, reducing greenhouse gases and creating useful by-products from waste with Guild plants and technologies.
Role Functions
- Grow Guild’s project portfolio in this strategic business area
- Build relationships with government and commercial clients and partners to meet business goals
- Lead proposal development efforts, conceptualizing new and innovative projects/products related to sustainable energy technologies that meet customer needs/requirements
- Lead product development efforts that will lead to commercialized systems and products
- Serve as a key technical lead in this market area and work with other Guild staff to develop breakthrough technologies that advance state of the art and have market potential
- Assist the project manager in all aspects of Engineering or EPC project execution from project award, through commissioning and project closeout.
- Coordinate with the engineering disciplines, vendors, and clients to coordinate design deliverable documents. This position leads design alignment and ensures contract compliance.
- Coordinate/lead engineering, supplier or client meetings as required.
- Lead, mentor, and manage junior level staff.
- Serve as the primary lead and point of contact for smaller scope projects.
- Assist the project manager in scheduling and budgeting activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience in sustainability and innovation required.
- Experience in product development and design and industrial processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Knowledge of catalysis and chemical processes a plus
- Being a P.E. is a plus.
- Able to evaluate, select and adapt standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Knowledge of principles and practices or related fields, and functions on multi-disciplinary teams.
