Overview:
The Artisan is directly involved in the manufacturing and quality of watch straps or leather goods products. The Artisan will work at one or more stations in the cutting department, assembly and/or inspecting and ensuring the quality of the process, material or final product. The qualified candidate must be flexible to move to different stations or assignments to support the needs of the production.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and operate various types of semi-auto or automatic machines after basic training.
- Responsible for using the protection personal equipment required (PPE) and applying all the safety recommendations for all or each process, machine and area of work.
- Responsible for maintaining the area of work clean and organized.
- Respect and maintain in good condition the product, furniture, tools, and machinery.
- Responsible for the daily maintenance of the tools and machines.
- Read, understand, and follow all of the SOP’s for the stations and/or directions required for each assignment.
- Inspect the product before and after processing and reject the defectives according to the quality requirements.
- Responsible for achieving the daily production at the required level of quality and requesting support when is needed.
- Responsible for declaring quantities on the system (writing/computer) to follow quality and production levels
- Train other artisans, providing the correct information and support.
- Participate actively in the resolution of problems and improvements of the process bringing ideas and proposals( MRP/Kaizen)
- Maintain timely communication with the production supervisor or line leader when safety, quality or other critical issues arise.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in manufacturing (leather, textile, electronics, or medical industry).
- Experience working as quality control.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Punctual
- Open to learn and work in different stations/positions.
Rates starting at: $16.50 Employment Type: Temporary with eligibility for Full-Time employment with benefits after 90 days.
