Position Overview
Coordinate activities associated with inbound and outbound logistics (both international and domestic) in support of operations at the Our Next Energy 12 Mile facility.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinates receipt of all deliveries to the 12 Mile facility, routing materials to the appropriate location, filing paperwork and performing associated Microsoft D365 transactions.
- Ensures shipping arrangements are in place for product in accordance with shipping/production plan.
- Packing and inspecting shipments certified as Class 9 hazardous materials. The Material Handler will ensure that all DG materials are packed in accordance with UN regulations prior to shipment.
- Maintains records associated with shipments. Completes shipping and receiving transactions.
- Serves as point of contact with freight companies, in coordination with the. Determines the most appropriate method of shipment and service provider under given conditions (time, cost, size of shipment, destination, and type of material being shipped).
- Will work directly with manufacturing and material control to establish and improve processes which impact efficient shipment of product and movement of materials within the facility.
- May be asked to assist with material control and inventory management.
Specific Skills/Abilities
- Thorough understanding of Import/Export Operations, Claims, Contract/Rate Negotiation, Freight Consolidation, Receiving/Shipping Operations
- Understanding of U.S. Customs Compliance, Duty Drawback
- Understanding of HTS classifications, USC, NAFTA, and UNDOT regulations.
- Attention to detail, initiative, good communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Will be required to operate a forklift
- Will be required to make appropriate shipping arrangements for Class 9 hazardous materials
Education/Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Management, or Material Control
- Solid computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with Microsoft D365 is a plus
- Experience and/or certified to ship dangerous goods. (If not, Our Next Energy will provide the required training)
- Willingness to operate or learn to operate a forklift if not already experienced and trained to do so
