Job Overview
Our ideal candidate is someone who can drive the strategic direction of their (our) accounts, and serve as the trusted advisor. The Account Manager communicates with enthusiasm and authority, adeptly adjusting their communication and management style when relaying direction to a multi-disciplinary team of strategy, creative, and technology partners, both internally and externally.As an Account Manager, you will collaborate and work with cross functional teams such as project managers, product owners, engineers, designers, user experience architects, quality assurance engineers, and marketing team members, to achieve the highest quality of work on behalf of our clients.
Your day-to-day tasks will vary but generally include stand-ups, client communication via email, Zoom, and phone, account status updates, internal team meetings and communication, and serving as the primary knowledge repository for your clients’ project, industry, and ongoing strategy.Our ideal candidate has a robust digital background with expertise in web and mobile development, cloud technologies, and other technological transformation projects. He/she is enthusiastic, a thoughtful communicator, maintains a positive attitude and is a problem solver. He/she is able to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with both internal and external teams.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact and liaison between Mindgrub and your (our) clients on all matters
- Naturally develop strong, trusting relationships with both clients and internal teams
- Enhance and strengthen existing accounts by identifying opportunities for growth through cross-selling, upselling, and renewing additional services
- Collaborate with team members to ensure client satisfaction and project health
- Work closely with Project Managers and Product Owners, while also contributing to the development/management of project timelines and budgets
- Serve as the primary source of knowledge regarding the client’s strategic plans and goals
- Implement and improve best practices both internally and externally throughout the project life cycle
- Identify, monitor, and address obstacles to project success, while triaging issues proactively, resolving conflicts, and escalating matters as necessary
- Accountable for the overall quality of work produced by the team
- Manage a cross-functional team through various projects with strong confidence, independence, and sound judgment
- Oversee multiple engagements for a single (or multiple) client(s), ensuring continuity and consistency in brand, style, messaging, and other business objectives across all channels
- Document the needs of the client and translate them into requirements for the internal team
- Engage with clients through active listening to fully understand their objectives, concerns, and success criteria, positioning yourself as the trusted partner and solutions provider
- Communicate clearly and effectively with both the client and internal team members to ensure a strong understanding of the client’s wants and needs, to ensure that the team members can execute the work effectively
- Assume an active leadership position within the team
Requirements
- Exceptional in both oral and written communication
- Strong business acumen
- Minimum 2-3 years agency experience
- Previous experience overseeing website development projects
- Analytical with strategic problem-solving abilities to recommend approaches and solutions
- Highly efficient and detail-oriented, with proven skills in time management
- Proven expertise in both waterfall and agile methodologies, agile/scrum certifications a plus
- Customer service-oriented, with the ability to build long-term relationships with clients
- Exceptional presentation skills and confidence speaking during both internal and client-facing meetings
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of account management experience in a client-facing role; agency experience preferred
- Experience managing accounts of all sizes, from small businesses to enterprise-level clients
- Strong desire for knowledge, and always eager to learn more
- Proven ability to expand accounts, with experience supporting new business teams
- Experience managing a diverse range of digital projects, including web, marketing, and mobile
- Proficiency in Google Products Suite, Project Management tools, Atlassian: Jira and Confluence
