Job Description
The Regulatory Investigations/DUI/DWI Contract Support Analyst will, under the Office of Security and Hazardous Materials Safety (ASH), provide assistance to the Regulatory Investigations Division through duties determined by the Division Manager. ASH initiates and conducts administrative and regulatory investigations on FAA employees, contractors, non-employees and certificated airman suspected of violating various FAA orders and regulations.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Intake and record all notification letters (NL’s) received from airmen related to alcohol/drug related motor vehicle action.
- Establish an investigative record pertaining to NL’s in applicable databases
- Research FAA databases and obtain applicable airman data in order to conduct a preliminary investigation
- Research and order applicable driving histories for NL’s and National Driver Register matches (as assigned)
- Track diligence of work, prioritize and reorder records as needed
- Performs a preliminary investigation to determine compliance with FAA regulations.
- If airman is in compliance with regulations, composes and sends a compliance letter
- May be required to send an airman an education letter regarding minor violations
- If the airman is not in compliance, organizes the file and refers case for formal investigation
- Updates applicable databases during the preliminary investigation process and upon final determination
- Expunge NLs over three years old from the file storage
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma and 10+ years of relevant experience
- Or, relevant BS Degree and 8+ years of experience
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice desired but not required
- Three years or more of investigative experience desired
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Applications
- Ability to read and comprehend complex information such as Federal regulations or technical information
- Ability to work well with internal and external customers
- Experience communicating technical, regulatory, or other complex information clearly to diverse audiences, through graphics, verbally, and in writing
- Ability to exercise sound judgment
- U.S. Citizen only. Must pass a background investigation and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
