Initially reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this candidate will be paramount in designing, building, and deploying Sporttrade’s cloud and on-premise infrastructure to empower the organization to deliver its products and services.Duties
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for various Sporttrade services.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews to continuously improve system reliability and reduce downtime.
- Design, deploy, and maintain both on-premise and cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or GCP) to meet the organization’s requirements for scalability, performance, and security.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code tooling to ensure that all infrastructure is repeatable and versioned.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for deployment, monitoring, and incident management to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide architectural recommendations and implementations to Sporttrade’s evolving Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Own the team management and structure of the Site Reliability Engineering team.
- Own the measurement and communication of key metrics for each environment at Sporttrade.
- Encourage and facilitate knowledge sharing across each team in the engineering organization.
- Serve as a champion for the engineering team and a resource for team members in non-engineering roles.
- Participate in flexible on-call rotations.
Your portfolio
- Excellent working knowledge with IaC tools such as terraform and ansible.
- Strong working knowledge with cloud providers. Bonus points for working knowledge with AWS and GCP.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, GKE experience is a plus.
- Extensive experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub actions.
- Strong operational experience in a Linux environment..
- Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting for automation and system management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Bonus points for experience working with Postgres or other SQL database engines.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
