As a Security Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining the security program and service to Veryon in concert with existing security staff, vendor support, tools and all applicable policies, procedures and processes. Support of the onsite user community in collaboration with IT staff is also expected.
What You’ll Accomplish - Your Performance Objectives
Objective 1:
Within your first
30 days, you will get familiar with the Veryon security tooling stack, vendor support, and security posture.
Take on tool dashboard, alert, and active management of security tooling stack, such as Crowdstrike, Avanan, JIRA, and Knowbe4
Work with vendor partners to actively address and mitigate security alerts and findings
Engage with local user community and meet stakeholders
Objective 2:
Within your first
3 months, establish yourself as a solid support team member safeguarding Veryon.
Establish proficiency in security tooling stack
Improve metrics in security ticket resolution
Know Veryon business landscape and identify areas of concern/risk
Support Veryon IT team as they provide end-user services (20%)
Objective 3:
Over the next
6 months, raise your proficiency and delivery of security services within the Veryon context, demonstrating understanding of our environment and needs for future delivery.
- Deliver security reporting and proactive defense of Veryon environment
Deliver as a partner to Engineering and Product peers, providing guidance on vulnerability management and good practices
Deliver subject matter owner presence in standing meetings including Cyber Security, Risk, IT, and others as needed
Deliver Security support to enterprise-wide projects
Who We’re Looking For – The Personal Competencies That Matter
The Security Analyst needs to have 3-5 years of experience in a security role, unless pertinent IT work addressing the above performance objectives is demonstrated. Share relevant education and training, as well as certifications to support this role.
Detail-Oriented: The Security Analyst will be responsible for monitoring security tooling and applying updates, remediation, and other effective actions on alerts as needed. The right person for this job has high attention to detail. This person has an eagerness to maintain accuracy while effectively prioritizing. Collaboration with security vendors, other staff, and management is essential to protect the Veryon environment. Time Management: The role will be responsible for maintaining their queue and schedule. They must excel at planning, executing, and updating all records on or before deadlines. This person will have excellent time management skills. They will do exceptionally well at prioritizing their schedule to make certain all cases assigned are in a “needs review” state before the end of their day.
Interpersonal Skills: Success in this role requires excellent analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail. You must thrive in working in a fast-paced environment and have a proven history of delivering top ties customer service. A successful candidate is a team player who has a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency for their work.
