At Homebound, we're using Service Design to reimagine the entire homebuilding industry. Our innovative cross-functional teams pair Product, Design, and Engineering with our in-house expertise in the areas of real estate investment and construction. Together, we're using connected real-time data and AI to transform the end-to-end system of how our high-yield real estate investment fund can be continually reused to build beautiful, high-quality homes that are serviced by a 10-year warranty.
Role Overview:
We're looking for a talented Senior Product Designer with a specialization in Service Design to join our innovative team at Homebound. In this role, you'll be instrumental in transforming the collaborations that take place between Investment Capital, Architecture, Design, Construction Operations, Procurement, and Trade Partners to ensure the delivery of exceptional homes to homeowners. Your background in Service Design will help us identify new ways to improve the experience of these Team Members, Trade Partners, and Homeowners through AI assisted automation and improvements to our process, software, collaborations, and policies.
What You'll Do:
Develop a deep compassionate understanding of the many ways finance, architecture, design, construction, and procurement work together to build for homeowners.
Lead discovery efforts to map out our understanding of the current challenges of the homebuilding process, distill insights, and imagine better ways of doing things that you can prototype and iterate on with stakeholders.
Collaborate with Product, Eng and Stakeholders to deliver both the high level strategy and an incremental roadmap of improvements that get us there.
Make sure initiatives are solving the right problems, improve our success metrics, make sure our MVPs are scoped appropriately, lean into early learnings, and champion our user-centric commitment to follow through on v1 and v2.
Contribute as a valuable member of the product design team, participating in design critiques, mentoring others, running workshops, and developing our design system.
Foster a friendly collaborative culture with efficient communications across the many squads of our business to ensure seamless integration of work areas.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent professional experience
Minimum 6 years of product design experience
A passionate interest in service design experience
Experience with early-stage high-growth startups
Experience building digital services that improve real-world operations
Experience working with multiple design systems across companies
Proven track record of delivering high-quality digital products
Positive and proactive work ethic
Self-directed with a collaborative mindset
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Humble, approachable, insights-driven, and receptive to others
Strong leadership in design thinking methods and principles
Experience in guiding teams through Service Design methodologies
Ability to conduct and lead design research
Excellent design component and prototyping skills in Figma
Ability to understand and simplify complex systems
Ability to influence stakeholders and build alignment across teams
Ability to define and improve success metrics and measured impact
