Our core values drive us, in business, internally, and in our everyday lives.The Document Processing Specialist is responsible and accountable for the timely and accurate incorporation of new content (new publications and revisions to existing publications) in Veryon’s Regulatory Library and Maintenance Library content repositories.  The Document Processing Specialist is expected to process incoming content in paper and electronic formats in any of the Veryon content processing categories as needed:

  • PDF-based Regulatory Library integration for electronic distribution
  • PDF-based Maintenance Library integration for electronic distribution
  • PDF-based Maintenance Library integration for paper distribution
  • Database entry Maintenance Schedule integration for electronic distribution

Additionally, the Document Processing Specialist is responsible, or may be responsible, for scheduling and assigning document processing work within the broader Content Repository group, and for coordinating the activities associated with scheduled Veryon publishing revisions.  The Document Processing Specialist is qualified and capable of performing all such duties; however, the specific assignment of any of these duties is at the discretion of the Content Repository Manager

What You’ll Accomplish - Your Performance Objectives


Objective #1:

In your first
30 days you will:

  • Inspect incoming content for completeness and legibility. 
  • Validate page counts and other data recorded in the Central Database that affect how the content will display in the library. 
  • Reports errors or issues to Cataloger or Acquisition Specialist as appropriate

Objective #2:

In your first
90 days you will:

  • Process documents according to Veryon work procedures for the type of document and the intended media for distribution. (examples are below)
  • If processing for Regulatory Library integration, specific work tasks include conversion of source into PDF format, assembling full manuals from discrete section files, making the PDF searchable using OCR, inserting bookmarks, and inserting required hyperlinks to other documents. 
  • If processing for Maintenance Library integration, specific work tasks include conversion of source into PDF format, assembling full manuals from discrete section files, making the PDF searchable using OCR and inserting bookmarks.

Objective #3:

In your first
6 months you will:

  • Perform review of other Document Processor completed work as a quality control check.  Notify the original Document Processor as appropriate for corrective actions.  Make corrective actions or edits, as required.
  • As assigned, schedule document processing work assignments among the Document Processor staff to achieve minimize backlogs and backlog aging. 
  • Work on special projects as needed.

Skillset:


Advanced skills in the use of Adobe Acrobat

  • Strong understanding of the Production 2.0 system across all workflow & processing steps
  • Familiarity with use of Microsoft SharePoint document version control and workflows
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Veryon document processing standards and methods
  • Knowledge of ATA chapter, sub-chapter, and subject organization concepts
  • Aptitude for attention to detail and accuracy of work

  • Flexibility:


    This position requires flexibility in working hours, including occasional evenings and/or weekends to meet business demands.
