In this role, you will:
- Support an engineering department committed to improving the lives of educators and students
- Build tooling that helps engineers focus on the problem they are trying to solve
- Contribute to scaling our platform to reach the next 10 million students
- Work asynchronously with a team and department spread across many time zones and locales
- Establish trusting relationships with folk all across the company
- Have fun using cool technology to solve interesting problems with awesome people
About You:
- You are fluent in English with professional-level verbal and written communication skills
- 3+ years of experience working in operations, infrastructure and/or developer experience
- You are excited to search out and debug problems in unfamiliar systems
- You value your autonomy and prefer building goals with your team rather than receiving them from a manager
- You have at least 1 year of professional experience developing applications
- You value code quality and well tested code
- You are comfortable working remotely
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Interest in working with functional languages (e.g., Haskell, Nix, Elm)
- Comfortable managing large systems (e.g., Linux, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with infrastructure orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Ansible)
- Experience with observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Honeycomb, Newrelic, Datadog)
- Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Github Actions, Argo)

Compensation at NoRedInk is robust and includes a full range of benefits, unlimited PTO, monthly co-working stipends, an initial home-office set-up stipend, and generous equity. Our salary ranges are based on factors such as expectations in the job description, location-specific market data, internal parity, and the experience and skills of individual candidates. Therefore, the compensation range is $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 USD, accounting for various locations and skills/expertise.
