About This Role
The Installation Engineer will perform installations of RefleXion’s breakthrough radiation therapy technology at customer sites. The Installation Engineer must be proficient with hands-on equipment assembly and testing. The Installation Engineer will interact with various customer stakeholders and RefleXion resources with the highest level of professionalism and competence.
What You Will Be Doing
- Perform all hardware installation activities in an efficient and effective manner
- Perform hardware upgrade and software installation activities as needed
- Contribute to the establishment and improvement of all released installation procedures
- Maintain tools and toolboxes
- Provide on-site coverage and assist Field Service Engineers in service activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment during installations, utilizing additional support, as necessary
- Coordinate with customer stakeholders such as project managers, construction contractors, physicists, etc., as well as RefleXion resources to provide a seamless installation experience
- Always ensure customer satisfaction through proactive and responsive communication and actions
- Record detailed installation reports and documentation in a timely manner
- Provide feedback for improvement opportunities in the installation process or product to Installation management and Engineering
- Follow all RefleXion and customer safety policies and practices
- Other duties as assigned
Where You Will Do This Job
- Hybrid (In the Field / On the Road) - This position requires a regular commute to and from the Company offices in Hayward, CA as well as to customer sites across the US; the successful candidate must be based in the greater SF Bay Area and must be able to commute into the RefleXion office in Hayward 1-4 days a week, depending on the role.
What We Need
- Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree in electrical, mechanical or similar engineering field (recent College Grads encouraged to apply!) - OR - Associate's of Science (AS) degree and at least 4 years of hardware installation experience with similar equipment, such as medical LINACs and/or diagnostic equipment (CT or MRI scanners) - OR - commensurate training and relevant experience
- Proficient in the use of test equipment and hand tools including oscilloscopes, multi-meters and electrical safety testers
- Good computer and software skills, such as working knowledge of MS Windows and Linux operating systems and control systems networking; ability to learn new software tools quickly
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve problems on complex electro-mechanical devices, using highly sophisticated software, at clinical sites
- Must be willing and able to travel extensively (up to 60%) throughout the US
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Critical thinking skills and proactive problem solver
- Skilled at building strong relationships with customers through effective communication, professionalism and resolution of issues
- Able to lift 23kg/50lbs regularly throughout the workday
- Work safely in confined areas in the presence of: HVDC up to 100kV; 480V/3ϕ, 100kW AC power distribution; high-energy ionizing radiation; high pressure pneumatics; and heavy rotating machinery
- Able to climb ladders, kneel, or crouch as required during installation of equipment.

The pay range for this role is $40.00 - $60.00 per hour. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable variable compensation.
