We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the R&D and commercial activities of Atom Computing. A great candidate will have experience supporting teams of scientists and engineers and be capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Job Requirements:
- Perform alignment, integration and testing of prototype and proof of concept systems, involving lasers, optics, fibers, electronics, software, and/or mechanical sub-assemblies
- Support construction, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and maintenance of equipment, components, devices, and systems for an R&D laboratory
- Organize and restock optics, electronics, vacuum, and other hardware components
- Construct and repair pressurized gas and water cooling systems
- Participate in the creation of laboratory safety procedures
- Support procurement, inspect and categorize incoming hardware
- Required to respond to laboratory emergencies outside of normal business hours
Experience & Education:
- Associate's degree in science, applied research, or technology or equivalent certificates/industry experience
- 3+ years of work experience in an engineering or R&D environment
- Temperamentally suited to work at a fast-growing, early stage startup: self-motivated, humble, driven, collaborative, and has a high tolerance for ambiguity and uncertainty
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse team of experimental physicists, hardware, and software engineers
- Excellent laboratory organizational skills to maintain a well-functioning environment for conducting complex research
