Phenom 300 Captain Role and Responsibilities
The Phenom 300 Captain position at pMD actively supports our business objectives by safely and efficiently transporting our executives and employees to diverse destinations. This role plays a pivotal part in contributing to both the daily operations within the Aviation Department and broader business activities.
Responsibilities include:
- act as the Pilot in Command while on pMD’s aircraft(s)
- ensure adherence to all pMD guidelines, FAA regulations, and relevant federal, state, and local laws
- collaborate with the Aviation Department to maintain logs and records, prepare reports, and optimize aircraft utilization and scheduling, including flight planning and route optimization
- keep executives informed of regulatory changes and flight safety information
- maintain proficiency and currency in flying skills through regular training and evaluations
- monitor aircraft performance and report maintenance issues
- oversee proficiency checks, recurrent training, and simulator sessions to enhance pilot skills and safety awareness
- provide exceptional customer service to passengers, reflecting the company's core values
- contribute to Aviation Department objectives, including supporting hiring and onboarding, developing training standards, and aligning fleet expansion with company goals and budget
- participate in company and department meetings to contribute to continuous improvement
- spearhead efforts to leverage aviation capabilities to support business strategies and initiatives
- the pilot should be prepared to occasionally serve extra duty shifts when called upon and execute same-day trips in addition to trips up to 5 days in duration
Requirements include:
- a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation or a related field (preferred)
- current PIC EMB-505 type rating
- at least 3,000 hours of flight time; of that, 2,000 hours fixed wing multi-engine time, 1,500 jet hours, and min 250 hours in type
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP)
- expert knowledge of FAA part 91
- 2 years of professional experience in a corporate setting
- valid US passport required; international pilot experience a plus
- pilot history without incidents, accidents, or violations within the previous five years
- FAA First Class Medical must be obtained before starting
- TBM experience a plus
- homebased; preferably living on the West Coast close to Santa Barbara
- strong decision-making abilities and situational awareness
- ability to read, analyze & interpret regulatory documents, equipment manuals, safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions & operations/procedures manuals
- responsible for the successful execution of multiple concurrent projects and/or tasks
- excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate professionally and effectively
- flexibility to travel and work irregular hours when needed
