The Task At Hand:
This role is primarily responsible for supporting the Business Planning Manager in developing a high-quality actionable demand plan that incorporates historical data, business insights, and cross-functional input. This position will work closely with the Sales team and the Materials and Production Planning teams to ensure Once Upon a Farm is making the right amount of product at the right time and available at the right location. This role will monitor the short-term inventory situation closely including incoming orders, supply chain problems, market changes, and inventory issues to guide the staging and prioritization of product through software.
This role will assist and determine the next steps in the S&OP process to match the changing needs of the business to ensure all key stakeholders across the organization are aligned and informed.
In This Role, You Will:
Demand Planning:
• Assist in developing and implementing demand planning processes and tools to improve forecast accuracy and efficiency• Analyze historical data, market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive intelligence to generate demand forecasts for various product categories and channels• Monitor and report on key performance indicators, such as forecast accuracy, bias, and service level; and seek opportunities to improve• Identify and communicate risks and opportunities to the demand plan and propose mitigation actions• Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance, operations, and supply chain teams to align on-demand plans and ensure alignment with business objectives and customer expectations• Support the implementation and optimization of demand planning software and tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Support the cross-functional demand consensus and Supply Plan process using a data-driven, fact-based approach to identify and communicate key forecast drivers• Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to provide business insights and drive corrective actions based on forecast variances
S&OP Support:
• Support and participate in demand review meetings, S&OP meetings, and other cross-functional forums to present and validate demand plans and assumptions• Assist in the development of the Demand Plan that serves as the foundation for the creation of the Supply Plan in the S&OP planning process• Communicate complex ideas concisely to a diverse audience, ranging from informational updates to financial approval requests from the leadership team• Ensure all key stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the S&OP cycle, facilitating effective decision-making and resource allocation
Continuous Improvement:
• Continuously evaluate and improve forecasting models, tools, and processes to enhance forecast accuracy and efficiency• Identify opportunities for process optimization within the demand planning function and contribute to overall supply chain improvement initiatives
In This Role, You’ll Bring With You:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field• 1+ years of analytics experience, ideally in the consumer-packaged goods space• Proven experience in demand planning or a similar role, preferably within the consumer goods or food industry• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in forecasting, ideally with experience in demand planning software• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity• Able to problem solve and get to the source of the issue by using strong influencing skills and succinct communication• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Slack, and other professional platforms• Up to 10% travel required: Although this role is a remote work-from-home position, we “Farmers” do meet as a company and/or as a department a few times a year.
Anticipate possible travel up to a few times each quarter• Genuinely passionate about improving childhood nutrition for a healthier and happier planet• Desire to contribute to a dynamic high-growth, purpose-driven work environment• Previous exposure to cross-functional work between Sustainability and Sales preferred• Preferably located in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA• Must reside in the United States to be considered for this position• Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Compensation:
• Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt• The anticipated salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a few factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses, stipends, equity, and role-specific perks.
