Role Overview:


The Senior Ecommerce Data Analyst (Digital Media) at Avenue Z will be responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and leveraging data to optimize our digital marketing strategies across paid and organic media and eCommerce platforms. This role requires a unique blend of data science expertise and hands-on experience in paid media buying and eCommerce. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using data to drive insights that improve campaign performance, customer acquisition, and overall ROI.The Senior Data Analyst collaborates across strategy, operations, and communications, partnering with senior leadership to manage essential cross-functional projects and support organizational cadence.

We focus on integrating Engineers, PMs, UX, and other roles to develop and launch products that engage our users. 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Analyze large datasets from various digital marketing channels (including paid search, social media, display, and eCommerce platforms) to extract actionable insights across a variety of ecommerce brands and verticals.
  • Responsiveness to KPI Deviations: Identify when campaign results do not align with client expectations and to raise alerts promptly. The expert must develop and propose actionable solutions to address any discrepancies and drive campaign success.
  • Campaign Optimization: Utilize data-driven methodologies to optimize paid media campaigns, including bidding strategies, audience segmentation, and creative performance. Must have a thorough understanding of attribution, measurement, and customer lifetime value.
  • Predictive Modeling: Develop and implement predictive models to forecast brand performance, campaign performance, customer behavior, and ROI, helping to guide strategic decision-making. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Paid Media, eCommerce, and Analytics teams to ensure data-driven insights are effectively integrated into campaign strategies.
  • A/B Testing: Design and execute A/B tests and other experiments to continually refine and improve campaign performance.
  • Reporting & Visualization: Create detailed reports and visualizations in Looker Studio to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring data is accessible and actionable.
  • Tool Development: Develop or enhance tools and scripts that automate data extraction, transformation, and analysis processes.
  • Staying Current: Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in digital marketing, data science, and eCommerce, including the best reporting tools and applications and apply this knowledge to drive innovation within the team.

Qualifications:


  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 4 years of experience in a data science role, preferably within a digital marketing environment. Proven experience in paid media buying and eCommerce is essential.
  • Leadership Skills: 2 years of experience leading digital projects or programs that involve working with cross-functional teams and building relationships with partners, customers, sales, and product management. 
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency working with data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL, ElasticSearch, AWS RDS, RedShift, and Excel.
  • Experience with digital marketing platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc.) and eCommerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in work, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Compensation


  • Job Type: Full-time Employee
  • Annual Base Salary: $100,000 - $140,000/year
