Check out our GOASG website.Materials Management:As a beginner Materials Manager at ASG, you assist and collaborate with a senior materials manager to plan materials needs for smaller projects and arrange and track shipments from the source facility to the desired destination.Key Responsibilities• Responsible for assisting in the planning and coordinating material inventory and purchasing departments.
• Responsible for staying updated on materials management industry standards and relevant certifications. • Responsible for assisting in moving materials between local docks. • Responsible for assisting in the receiving of materials at the dedicated warehouse. • Responsible for assisting in the picking, packing, and arranging for shipment of kitted packages from the dedicated warehouse.• Responsible for assisting in maintaining inventory at the dedicated warehouse. • Responsible for assisting in the updating of inventory summaries.
• Responsible for assisting in the participation in project team meetings. • Responsible for assisting in the one-on-one interactions with project team members. Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical area or in a related field.• 0-2 years of experience in materials management or a relevant role. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & BehaviorsBuild knowledge of materials management principles and practices by assisting in the following areas:• Turning material forecasts into purchase orders.
• Tracking purchase order status. • Arranging and tracking shipments.• Resolving damaged shipment issues. • Overseeing inventory control at receiving sites. • Reconciling invoices against shipments received. • Inform the project management team of the status of materials and risks. • Assisting materials management assistant with inventory and pedigree control. • Ongoing collaboration with client and vendor project team members. • Occasional interaction with staff from other client functions.• Build knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Visio • Build skills in performing problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skillsBuild skills in performing effective time management, organizational, and personal capabilities.• Build skills in communication and teamwork.• Ability to distinguish between project parts • Ability to work effectively with others • Ability to multitask • Ability to pay attention to detail • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of information and practices while finding solutions to meet project needs.
