Overview:
The Markit EDM Developer will act as intermediary between the business community and the technical community, working with IT project teams and business colleagues to collect, clarify, and document business requirements using appropriate tools and models and in other cases will be lead developer.
Responsibilities:
Architect and Lead Implementation.
Architect and lead the implementation of the solution using Markit EDM and IT best practices through the entire software development life cycle. Play a key technical and design role in helping to expand the firms Cloud integration data strategy leveraging Markit EDM. This includes testing, post implementation support and training other developers on the team. Engage stakeholders across multiple business lines to develop and ensure business requirements are met in building solutions using Markit EDM
.
Create and promote Markit EDM standards and best practices for the development team to follow.
Drive process and data quality improvements.
Collaborate with business and technology partners to document improvements. Ensure all projects comply with Glenmede’s Project Management, data governance standards, and Change Management Methodology. Proactively identify major issues, risks and dependencies, and manage them to mitigate their impact. Partner with other IT leaders to deliver and support Glenmede’s enterprise data warehouse strategy (Markit EDMW).
Communicate business priorities.
Provide status updates to the project and steering committees in order to drive effective business solutions. Communicate business priorities to the technology organization in order to drive effective business solutions. Effectively participate and communicate with a team of developers, systems analysts, business analysts and business partners.
Firm Building.
Active engagement in department-specific and firm-wide initiatives in order to expand capabilities, create solutions to unmet business needs, improve client experience, or develop more efficient processes. Ability and willingness to contribute to the advancement of team, office and business capabilities. Other duties as required by the position.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Markit EDM experience required.
- Three to five years of experience developing within Markit EDM or Markit EDM certification required.
- An understanding of data in the financial industry with a particular focus on wealth management and trading required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- End-to-end development experience including user interface design and development at a wealth management firm preferred.
- Matching, Mastering and Inspector processes at a wealth management firm preferred.
- ETL (import and export) and scheduling concepts at a wealth management firm preferred.
- Ability to write complex SQL queries, read and validate the design performed by the development team.
- Experience interfacing Market EDM with trading platforms, experience with Charles River.
- Excellent skills in documentation, testing and problem solving.
- Experience in agile and waterfall development and deployment methodologies.
- Ability to communicate issues, status, and progress on assigned tasks to direct management.
- Ability to consult, analyze and implement roles within a project.
- Ability to understand existing Microsoft ETL/SSIS processes to design migration from internal process to Markit HUB.
