Our client, Carmel Clay Public Library, is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join their leadership team. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic HR Leadership: Serve as a strategic advisor to the leadership team and Board of Directors. Provide guidance on budget, policy, employee relations, and total rewards, and develop HR processes, procedures, and policies.
- Employee Relations and Performance Management: Lead the performance review process, coach managers on leadership development, employee relations, and conflict resolution, and promote a positive organizational culture.
- Total Rewards and Benefits Management: Work with benefits brokers to maintain a competitive benefits package, manage open enrollments, annual compensation reviews, and workers' compensation processes.
- Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Manage recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes while assisting managers in developing compliant and successful interviewing skills.
- HRIS and Compliance: Maintain the HRIS system, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and manage payroll and Leave of Absence processes.
- Support of Library Strategy and Values: Uphold the library’s mission to create welcoming places, provide excellent customer service, and support users' evolving needs in a diverse and inclusive environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in management, HR, business, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a human resources generalist, including 3 years of leading an HR function
- Expertise in HR compliance, coaching, and developing leaders
- Experience processing payroll (ADP Workforce Now experience is a plus)
- Experience working with a Board of Directors, preferably in a public or nonprofit organization
- SHRM certification preferred
- Strong business acumen, effective communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic environment
