The Human Resources Generalist works in the Corporate Headquarters as part of a dedicated team of HR professionals, serving employees throughout the United States. As an integral member of the human resources team, the Human Resource Generalist works collaboratively across the HR Team assisting with the development and deployment of business-driven HR projects/strategies designed to attract, manage, develop, motivate and retain key people while creating a high-performance, organization capable of achieving business objectives.
The HR Generalist will be responsible for applying knowledge skills and ability to provide a wide range of HR support in the following areas: recruiting, benefits, employee relations, onboarding, employment documentation and employee communications. RequirementsResponsibilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of general HR policies, procedures, and practices.
- Advise managers on appropriate resolutions for employer relations issues.
- Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.
- Have experience with investigations including, but not limited to, accidents and harassment allegations.
- Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation; conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Ability to build relationships and influence others across multiple operations.
- Assist with recruiting efforts.
- Maintain records of personnel transactions: hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
- Assist with the handling of leave administration.
- Assist with the handling of workers' compensation including reporting and following up with employees and insurance provider.
- Provide monthly departmental reports.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions; ensure organizational policies, procedures, and reporting comply.
- Some travel may be required for this position including overnight.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
- 3 – 5 years of Human Resources experience required; PHR certification is a plus
- Ability to speak effectively in front of groups of customers or employees
- Knowledge of HRIS Human Resource systems, Excel Spreadsheets and Word Processing software
- Excellent verbal/written communication & customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with a high sense of urgency.
- Adaptable to changing circumstances and a strong ability to anticipate needs.
- Commitment to quality and collaboration in a team based environment.
