Position Requirements:

  • $20.35 / hour and eligible for mileage reimbursement
  • While not required to apply, you’ll prepare, study, and take exams to obtain a HUD Certification and National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) Certification. You must obtain the certifications during training to begin work with us as a Financial Counselor. 
  • Ability to work remotely from home and travel to local Wright Patt Credit Unions each week. 
  • Driving is an essential function of this role. A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Full Time; 40 Hours a week with 8 Hour shifts, and Benefits Eligible (Medical, Dental Vision, 11 Paid Holidays, 19 PTO Days, and retirement options)
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. 
  • 4 hour Saturday shift may be required on occasion.
  • Position will begin training on October 28th.Initial training lastsabout 4 weeks. Training days are Monday – Friday and typically 10 AM – 7 PM Eastern Time or 11 AM – 8 PM Eastern Time.After the initial training, you will begin your work schedule. 
  • Training will include Job Shadowing at the Credit Unions, eLearning, Remote Learning, and a dedicated Training Professional to facilitate the experience. 
  • Training isbroken down into modules to be completed during your first year of employment. This approach allows you to become proficient in one area of the role, before learning a new area. 
  • Fluency in Spanish and Englishpreferred, not required
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute at 80% accuracy is required

  • All interview efforts have been transitioned to a virtual environment (Phone Call, Video Interview) and do not require in person meetings for consideration 

Remote Work from Home Requirements:

  • Internet 
  • Hard-wired internet. This means you can use an ethernet cable to connect to a modem.
  • Internet speed requirement of 200 Mbps for single person residence, and 400 Mbps for residence with 2 or more people.
  • Caregiving 
  • Remote Work From Home is not a replacement for caregiving, childcare, or elder care. You are unable to be a primary caregiver during working hours.

When you are not providing face to face counseling, you’ll have the opportunity to assist people across the United States via phone counseling. You’ll be joining a small team of GreenPath Financial Counselors who share about 12 offices local to the Fairborn, OH and Columbus, OH markets. This is a unique opportunity as you will be able to meet with individuals in person to provide counseling, resources, and services to meet their unique financial needs. Conversations typically revolve around credit card debt, mortgage delinquency, and collection debts. GreenPath Financial Wellness and Wright-Patt Credit Union are strong partners. Imagine the sense of relief you would be providing to clients through your empathetic, non-judgmental financial counseling. Can you imagine the impact you would have on individuals and their families? GreenPath has also helped WPCU members pay off more than $10 million in debt over the last eight years.What might I experience in this role each day? 

  • In addition to inbound calls, you will respond to client emails, and conduct outbound calls to prospective clients for two of the services we offer 
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to GreenPath’s clients in accordance with GreenPath standards and expectations. As you can imagine, it may be difficult for someone to seek help with personal finances. Your welcoming communication and strong customer service approach will be the foundation of a positive experience for clients.
  • Gather and evaluate client information. Then, determine and recommend an appropriate course of action for the client’s financial situation. Maintaining confidentiality/discretion regarding client information is critical.  
  • Counsel and provide educational materials to clients regarding budgeting, credit, money management, housing, and other financial needs.  
  • Provide Face to Face Counseling and Phone Counseling while at the Credit Union
  • Provide Phone Counseling while at your home office
  • You will also develop and provide all clients with an action plan detailing the recommendations and support
  • Review and analyze client credit reports and credit score with the client.
  • Discuss program fees and demonstrate the value of GreenPath programs, when appropriate to the client’s financial situation
  • Follow up to ensure clients have a clear understanding of options and recommendations presented to them
  •  Perform Housing services such as pre-purchase, foreclosure prevention, rental, post loan modification coaching, and reverse mortgage counseling.  
  •  Conduct review sessions with existing clients at clients’ request and at regularly scheduled intervals  
  •  Complete ongoing training and workshops to maintain appropriate certification and licensing required for the position.  
  • Communicate and respond empathetically to clients and creditors to maintain successful relationships.  
  • Collaborate and interact with team members across the organization to foster teamwork and skill building.  
  • Maintain GreenPath’s high standard of quality while upholding the highest standard of business ethics.  
  • Adhere to WPCU’s code of conduct and a business casual dress code to maintain the expected level of professionalism.  
  • Perform additional functions as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager. 
  • Perform miscellaneous office duties such as copying, data entry, word processing, filing, and faxing. 
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality regarding client financial information. 
  • This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time andoperate standard office equipment such as a phone and computer.
