  • The CNC Machinist will be responsible for operating and running stations with up to two lathes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual in this position must use initiative and judgment arranging job details to achieve predetermined objectives.   The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Reads and interprets blueprints and drawings to setup, edit, and machine parts (fasteners, midlines) to tight specifications and tolerances
  • Operates and runs stations with up to two Numeric Controlled lathes
  • Machines small to mid-size parts (2–8-inch midlines/fasteners for FlexSteel products)
  • Utilizes common machining tools: Micrometers, Calipers, Gauges, etc. to perform QC on finished parts.
  • Fast-paced, precise work. 
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment. Shop is kept very organized and clean.

  • Works in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for quality of parts produced.
  • Responsible for documentation generated or related to production of the job.
  • Works within tolerances of +/-.005”.
  • Works from blueprints, sketches, and process control documents.

  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as required. 

  • All candidates must be punctual and reliable and adhere to strict attendance policy
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE


and QUALIFICATIONS


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.   • Highschool Diploma or Equivalent GED.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience doing setups, edits, and machining on CNC Lathes
  • Experience with carbon, stainless steel materials
  • Experience running station with multiple machines in a fast-paced work environment

  • Candidates must be able to read prints to do own setup & editing as needed during runs

  • Experience with Okuma Lathes with Live Tooling a major plus
  • Experience with G-Codes & Okuma Controls (OSP – 200LA and 300) a major plus
