- In the Buyer role you will purchase MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) supplies and Raw Material as required to support manufacturing. Ensure companies production needs are met taking into account price, quality and delivery, and oversee continuity of supply.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Obtains quotes with price and availability, places orders with vendors at the best possible prices for materials and/or supplies that meet all quality specifications.
- Creates and maintains delivery schedules effectively that support production requirements.
- Negotiate, source, assist in vendor selection, and prepares documentation for the purchasing.clerk to use in preparation of the Purchase Order.
- Solicits quotes for and coordinates transportation for inbound shipments as required for production and/or project management.
- Requires regular contact at all organizational levels, both internal and external.
- Perform any other functions, activities, or duties as directed by their supervisor.

and QUALIFICATIONS

- Associates/Bachelor’s degree (BA) or 5 years of experience in manufacturing supply chain.
- Or a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Buying capacity, plus the demonstrated ability to perform the functions of the position. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management and other groups.
- Effective with MS Excel (including graphical illustrations), to provide effective presentations and maintain records.
- Requires independent judgment and decision-making skills.
