As a Database Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of database systems critical to the organization's data management needs. Your role will involve working with various database technologies such as MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and BigQuery to ensure data availability, integrity, and performance for data analytics and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Design and Architecture: Design and develop database systems that meet the organization's requirements, including data modeling, schema design, and database structure optimization.
- Database Administration: Administer, maintain, and monitor database systems to ensure high availability, performance, and data security.
- Query Optimization: Write and optimize SQL queries for various database platforms (Clickhouse, MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL) to enhance data retrieval efficiency and performance.
- Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration projects when transitioning between database systems or upgrading versions.
- Performance Tuning: Identify and resolve database performance issues through tuning, indexing, and monitoring, ensuring efficient data retrieval and processing.
- Data Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage data backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Database Monitoring: Set up and utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues and maintain database health.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, developers, and system administrators, to support their database-related needs.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changes.
- BigQuery Data Analytics: Utilize Google BigQuery for data analytics, including data warehousing, querying large datasets, and generating insights from data.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Clickhouse , MySQL, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL, including query optimization and performance tuning.
- Experience with Google BigQuery for data analytics, data warehousing, and complex queries.
- Knowledge of database design principles, data modelling, and schema management.
- Familiarity with data migration tools and techniques.
- Proficiency in database security, including user access control and encryption.
- Understanding of backup and recovery procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of other database technologies and NoSQL databases is a plus.
- Relevant certifications in database administration or data analytics are a bonus.
