Summary:
The Mood Disorders Center is one of four programs that comprise our rapidly expanding Child Mind Medical Practice. The Center offers cutting edge, tailored treatment services for children, adolescents, and young adults suffering from mood disorders and related concerns, including depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, suicidality and self-harm, and emotional dysregulation. Successful candidates will collaboratively participate in our multidisciplinary group practice and contribute to a dynamic, growing team. - Provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and treatment to children, adolescents, and young adults with mood disorders, including clients with comorbid anxiety-related disorders and externalizing disorders
- Provide empirically supported treatments such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as mindfulness-based interventions in treatment
- Conduct family-based interventions with parents and other family members, including Parent Management Training (PMT), and collateral contacts with educators and other providers
- Collaborate with our board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists on cases requiring pharmacotherapy
- Provide clinical supervision to psychology trainees
- Conduct public workshops on youth mental health topics as part of our community outreach
- Other related duties as assigned by the Senior Director, Mood Disorders Center
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree from an APA-accredited or CPA-accredited program in clinical psychology
- Completion of APA-approved clinical pre-doctoral internship
- Completion of post-doctoral fellowship
- Must have a current, valid, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state of New York or be in the process of obtaining that license
- Minimum of 5 years of licensed experience required
- Demonstrated expertise in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Experience in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) preferred
- Prior experience supervising and training psychology trainees preferred
- Demonstrated experience with professional writing and public speaking preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals/groups
- Flexible thinking with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
