POSITION SUMMARY
The Research Operations Associate works under the supervision of Project Managers and/or the Director of Research Operations. The ROA will work to assist with general project and managerial support for multiple projects, including scheduling meetings, taking notes, managing project organization databases, communicating with team members about timelines and responsibilities, updating work plans, and drafting progress reports. The ROA must demonstrate possession of four general attributes: motivation to work, task orientation, interpersonal skills, and initiative.
Primary Responsibilities
- Participate in qualitative research, such as supporting data management; coding, categorizing, and analyzing data using QDA software; organizing, recruiting, scheduling, and obtaining consent from participants for focus groups, interviews, observations, and site visits; and supporting data collection efforts (virtually until in-person travel is safe) through conducting interviews, note taking, documentation, or observation.
- Contribute to quantitative data collection & analyses – developing survey questions, creating visual displays (e.g., graphs, charts), performing basic statistical analyses.
- Support learning and evaluation projects through engaging in critical thinking and thought partnership with different teams.
- Support the production and coordination of reports, proposals, and other deliverables, which may include coordinating across multiple authors; memo writing; literature searches; preparing logic models, figures, charts, and tables; and fact-checking and documentation.
Requirements
- BA/BS in psychology, economics, public policy, sociology, education, or related social science field
- A minimum of three years conducting research in a social science related field
- Previous experience conducting program evaluation is a plus.
