Job Description
The role of Class A CDL Driver will perform duties allocated by the operations teams, as per customer demands. The Class A CDL Driver will transport products to and from specific locations. This role will ensure proper workmanship is maintained in all aspects of the job. In addition to the responsibilities of this role the employee will assist other co-workers in any way possible as well as the Facilities & Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Operations regarding delivery schedules
- Observe equipment as it comes on the yard to ensure all loaded tanks, tankers or trailers are dropped in the correct areas and are spotted on plates or boards to prevent sinking
- General maintenance of chassis, IBC’s and shop area
- Ensure daily inspections of allocated vehicle is carried out and recorded correctly
- Carry out driving duties as instructed by the operations department in a safe manner
- Regularly perform inspections of PPE equipment
- Responsible for meeting all D.O.T
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Class A CDL, Hazmat Endorsement, and Tanker Endorsement required as per FMCSA
- Minimum two years of Hazmat experience required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Meets all DOT regulations pertaining to driver qualifications as per FMCSA and must have reasonable, comprehensive knowledge of FMCSA regulations pertaining to driver actions and responsibilities
- May assist with loading and unloading trucks when needed
Physical Demands:
- Physically and mentally fit
- Ability to exert physical effort in handling (pushing, pulling, lifting) objects up to 50 lbs.
- Strong hand-eye coordination
- Visual and hearing acuity
- Position is sedentary in nature
Work Environment:
- Will work in different weather conditions
- Work environment can be subject to loud noises
