Product Marketing Manager - Lidar

We’re looking for a Product Marketing Manager to own our go-to-market efforts for our core hardware products. In this role, your core responsibility will be owning the marketing and sales strategy for our lidar products. As a part of this you will be the subject matter expert on our sensors, analyze trends in our sales data, designing and updating pricing, defining our competitive positioning, and launching new products. This is a role for a leader, self-starter, a strong communicator, a hungry learner, someone who is comfortable getting technical with our products, and most importantly someone who wants to have a huge impact in one of the most transformational industries in the world today. We are based in San Francisco and accommodate local or remote working options.

Responsibilities:


  • Deeply understand our technology, working closely with our product and engineering teams
  • Define and drive our industry GTM strategy, building partnerships and leading sales and marketing teams to execute against your strategy and company growth targets.
  • Be an expert in what our customers are trying to achieve and how we can help them get there, as well as all competition and their value propositions
  • Internally serve as the expert on our sensors, lidar technology, and our target industries. Help surface new products, features, and selling strategies that will help us grow
  • Define our messaging and our content strategies, as well as be a key driver of the product roadmap. Be the expert in how to sell our unique features and technology
  • Execute attention-grabbing product and feature launches that differentiate Ouster and expand our addressable markets and use cases
  • Create compelling pitches and sales resources needed to improve win rates and close deals faster
  • Drive campaigns that convert into meaningful new business. Write compelling content to draw in new leads, including blog posts, webinars, competitive performance reports, and pitch decks
  • Communicate broadly and frequently. Share all that you know with our sales team and our distributor partners to help them close more deals and grow our business

You Have: 


  • Comfort with highly technical details and a strong curiosity
  • Strong analytical skills - comfort with excel and creating models to understand our sales trends
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills. Ability to tell a compelling story of how our products solve problems for our customers
  • Comfort with creating polished presentations
  • Great teamwork and teambuilding skills. Ability to build relationships across all functions in the company
  • Bias towards action. You will be the driver for our lidar product marketing and will need to take an ownership mindset towards all aspects of the business. Success is defined by deals closed and revenue growth. 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, growth minded company
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering

Desired but not required: 


  • Product marketing experience - product launches, messaging, content creation, and sales enablement
  • Consulting Experience
  • An MBA
  • Experience with hardware products
  • Worked with lidar, cameras, radar, or IoT devices before

$160,000 - $190,000 a yearThe base pay will be dependent on your skills, work experience, location, and qualifications. This role may also be eligible for equity & benefits.We acknowledge the confidence gap at Ouster.
