POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technician position is based at Zenith’s Dominguez Hills Terminal and supporting DOT assets in the surrounding Long Beach, California area. This position works in and around petroleum products and crude oil facilities executing electrical, controls and instrumentation duties at terminal and pipeline facilities. The position also provides field support to other processes, projects and departments as well. This position will assess, maintain, repair and monitor control of distributed control systems.The successful candidate will perform various duties including: maintenance and repair of medium voltage equipment, calibration and troubleshooting various instrumentation, control systems and automation systems.
The candidate should have the ability to trouble shoot problems, work independently and also in a team environment. Travel, call-outs, weekends and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities:
The E&I Technician will perform tasks associated with routine maintenance, facility instrumentation and measurement devices. In addition, this role will be accountable for final control elements, such as process control, safety and emergency shutdown, fire detection and suppression, gas detection, wiring and control panels, in addition to other duties as directed. The successful candidate will maintain, troubleshoot and repair PLC’s, communications and partner with SCADA and Engineering personnel as appropriate.
This role will be responsible for maintaining and updating all system documentation, including loop diagrams, panel drawings, as well as relevant discipline control and internal documents to support the business. The E&I Technician is required to complete all required training, and perform work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in accordance with all Environmental, Safety and Regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Associate’s degree in a related technical field is preferred
- Previous electrical or instrumentation experience
- Proficiency in basic computer skills
- Pipeline specific electrical and instrumentation experience is preferred
- Valid driver’s license and good driving recordThe pay range for this E&I Technician position will be between $30-mid 40's per hour, depending on the candidate's experience and education. This pay range is reflective of the local market data as well as cost of living.
