Atomic Machines is on Earth to radically advance humanity’s command over matter. Our mission is real-time bits-to-atoms manufacturing of anything at any scale, and to that end, we’re developing an entirely new digital micro-device manufacturing platform that is going to redefine how things are made, and do so while simultaneously enabling the rapid creation at any scale of new classes of machines – think medical micro-robotics, true lab-on-chip microfluidics, tunable antennas, ultrafast high-power and high-frequency RF switching devices and many more. The first device we are building with our platform has exceptional large-scale product/market fit and commercial traction, and we are pushing hard to share it with the world.

About this Role:We are seeking a seasoned Global Supply Manager to define and execute our supply chain strategy for raw materials and capital equipment. This includes leadership of overall supply chain operations, sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management. You will be responsible for identifying and qualifying suppliers, building cost models, negotiating contracts, and influencing designs to meet cost targets. You will also own evaluating and implementing tools such as PLM and ERP systems to ensure the efficient functioning of our supply chain and manufacturing operations.
This role will be critical to ensuring our products are delivered efficiently and with positive economics.
What You’ll Do:
- Source and qualify suppliers for all components for custom capital equipment and for all raw materials for devices.
- Negotiate and establish vendor contracts such as Master Supply Agreements. This includes negotiating favorable terms and pricing.
- Develop cost models for devices and equipment to track current spending and future opportunities for cost reduction.
- Develop and implement a preferred supplier strategy that improves supply assurance, business continuity, raw material quality, delivery, and cost while meeting the needs of product development & compliance.
- Create budgets for new hardware development projects in conjunction with the Finance team.
- Manage CapEx and NPI budgets, purchasing, and spending. Create plans for reducing product costs, including trade studies of available design options.
- Ensure that Atomic Machines is compliant with all applicable export and import regulations.
- Create regular supply chain risk assessments and conduct reviews of the same with senior leadership. Drive risk-reduction activities.
- Participate in new product feasibility studies and design reviews to represent Supply Chain and drive cost-conscious design decisions.
- Establish processes for planning and executing supply chain activities such as RFPs, supplier qualification, material planning and executive reviews.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related areas of study.
- MBA preferred or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years experience in managing NPI supply chains.
- Experience managing teams of at least five people.
- Familiarity with bottoms-up and should-cost models.
- Understanding CapEx budgeting and accounting.
- Ability to negotiate supplier contracts such as supply and service agreements.
- Ability to influence design for manufacturing and cost.
- Experience in sourcing raw materials.
- History of proven leadership and influence on a global basis that includes communication skills and outstanding problem-solving abilities.
- This position is full-time and onsite, located in Berkeley or Santa Clara. The Santa Clara office location requires working one day weekly in Berkeley.
$170,000 - $220,000 a yearThe compensation for this position includes equity and benefits.Apply for this job
