GENERAL JOB FUNCTION
The Research Laboratory Technician is involved in successful execution and completion of all DNW’s service to local and national research institutions and work towards maximizing DNW’s goal to increase its involvement in clinical research applications.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works in the DNW Wet Laboratory to prepare internal and external research protocols.
- Process human tissue samples and maintain an inventory of collected samples. Ensures that the wet laboratory follows all applicable regulations governing working with human tissue samples.
- Participates in tissue procurement for research as needed.
- Additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques including DNA isolation and quality control, ELISA, and histological tissue processing.
- Ability to communicate with DNW staff and scientists.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Science or equivalent plus at least 1 year of work experience.
- Experience working in a wet laboratory environment.
- Experience working in a pathology or immunology-related laboratory is preferred.
