Senior Database Developer

As a Senior Database Developer with Doran Jones, you will work alongside a team of highly skilled and diverse SDLC professionals to deliver projects for a multi-national financial services firm. In this position, you will provide hands-on delivery and partner with DBAs to tune and optimize the application. You will have the opportunity to impact the organization by creating a supportive Agile environment for more junior members of the SDLC team.
The business domain is Operational and Compliance Risk, both of which are critical to the organization.

Responsibilities


  • Work with a team of database professionals who build, maintain, and support a reliable, available database environment for the development organization and production business users.
  • Create and review stored procedures, triggers, cursors, views, and SQL for efficiency and supportability.
  • Build and analyze ETL processes designed to centralize data for use with visualization tools.
  • Lead and participate in specialized projects, including assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, and monitoring performance.
  • Develop effective, proactive, and elegant solutions, minding available facts, constraints, and probable outcomes.
  • Remain current with developments and trends in areas of expertise, including new technologies that may provide opportunities for the future.
  • Foster collaborative relationships to facilitate accomplishing work goals with QA and other colleagues in the organization.
  • Design/Extend/Maintain data structures across various databases developing business solutions.

Required Experience


  • 10+ Years with Relational Databases, DataPump, or similar ETL tools.
  • 10+ Years of software development experience in PL/SQL.
  • 7+ Years of experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) or similar Database.
  • 7+ Years use of a scripting language such as Perl, Python, shell, or other.
  • 5+ Years with NoSQL Databases (Mongo or S3 a plus).
  • Experience working with Oracle grid infrastructure 19c and Oracle parallel execution
  • Experience working with enterprise data models across multiple environments.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile Software Development practices and how to leverage these to streamline project execution.
  • Experience working in a platform managed by a DevOps team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.

Preferred Experience


  • Experience working as a full-stack or backend developer
  • Financial Services, Consulting, or Scum Master experience
