Summary:
The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for test costing and analysis, and inventory valuation. Additionally, the Senior Cost Accountant supports monthly financial close, cycle counts, and physical inventory and ensures accurate financial postings occur. This person partners closely with our Supply Chain and Operations teams to provide critical support in ensuring compliance with US GAAP and related accounting rules.

Ensure inventory costing policies are clearly defined and consistently implemented.
Perform cost variance analysis and maintain accurate costing records.
Develop and execute a review process for inventory adjustments, including setting processes and approval thresholds, developing a reporting and review process, and actively reviewing and approving inventory/in-process adjustments.
Lead and coordinate periodic physical asset counts.
Support monthly financial close, inventory counts, and perpetual inventory accuracy.
Scrutinize costing and inventory transactional data to draw conclusions, interpret results, drive corrective actions, and make recommendations to Accounting leadership.
Analyze aging reports and review turnover of inventory/in-process materials for possible impairment and calculate any necessary reserves.
Assist in the improvement of processes and internal controls related to inventory.
Ensure all required journal entries and respective documentation is properly recorded.
Analyze testing costs and prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Work cross-functionally to determine accurate costing estimates for new tests and modifications of existing tests.
Manage all new and existing items setup and accuracy in the ERP item master data.
Ensure accuracy of standard costs in the ERP, including periodic standard cost rolls.
Work closely and collaboratively across cross-functional teams whenever necessary.

Qualifications:
College degree in accounting or related field.
3+ years of accounting experience with at least 1-2 of those years being in a manufacturing, assembly or inventory management environment.
Demonstrated strong aptitude for problem-solving, accounting principles, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking.
Must possess knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.
Detailed understanding of how supply chain flow and manufacturing processes interact with the general ledger.
Must be strategic and results-oriented.
Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver first-time quality product within deadlines.
Must be self-motivated.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
Proficiency in using NetSuite required.
Ability to present and communicate at all levels of the business.
