From plant genetics to the cannabis retail experience under the Mission Dispensary brand, 4Front’s team applies expertise across the entire cannabis value chain.The Director of Production reports directly to the VP, Operations.  This position requires a strong leader who is willing to grow, motivate, and develop their team. The ideal candidate for this role is self-motivated, goal-driven, and people-oriented. The typical day to day tasks for this role will involve developing production and capacity and passing these plans to team managers for execution.

There will also be a heavy hand in overseeing outbound logistics to retail and third-party vendors. Daily activity will also involve frequent communications with retail and wholesale partners to optimize product offerings and drive sales. 

COMPENSATION


  • $110, 000 - $135,000 Depending on Experience

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Ensure production fully complies with all State and Local laws and consistently provide the leadership team with thorough up-to-date training on policy changes and evolving expectations.  
  • Implement and execute company policies and procedures. 
  • React, respond, and provide guidance to VP, Operations for state level activities. 
  • Ensure compliancewithNew Product Introductions. 
  • Challenge the thought process and provide insight and reasonings behind recommendations and course corrections. 
  • Work collaboratively with department heads and step in & help where needed within different departments or cross-functionally to ensure operational goals are met. 
  • Hold managers accountable for maintaining staffing goals to ensure cultivation,production, and retail targets are met while maintaining compliance with state law and regulations.  
  • Confer with management personnel to establish quality control standardsand maintain statistical data on the performance of product testing.   
  • Inspection and internal audit management. 
  • Manages responses fornotices to complywith state agencies. 
  • Tracking legislative and regulatory developments. 
  • Advocacy for legislative and regulatory improvements. 
  • Support for OSHA and safety processes and tracking. 
  • Oversightof SOPs and training systems. 
  • Support with quality assurance/failed batches/corrective action plans. 
  • Issue-spotting. 
  • Partnering with finance to ensure proper payment and agreements are maintained and when necessary, arbitrate new agreements. 
  • Drive positive morale, effective communication, and is consistent with the entire team. 
  • Acts responsibly and takes accountability for their own behavior, actions, and decisions. Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and effective relationships at all levels in the organization. 
  • Crafts and delivers clear and professional verbal and written communication within all formats (Outlook, Teams, Text, Meetings, 1:1, etc.). 
  • Communicates with appropriate audiences while maintaining confidentiality, sharing information as appropriate, and communicates with tact and diplomacy. 
  • Maintains an open-door policy.  
  • Is responsive and provides consistent and effective verbal and non-verbal communication. 
  • Supports department heads with operational HR tasks including onboarding and offboarding, and coaching and mentoring employees. 

QUALIFICATIONS


  • 21+ and currently residing in the USA. 
  • Dispensing Organization Agent Identification Card (obtained upon hire). 
  • Bachelor's degree in business or industry training equivalent (preferred). 
  • Regulatory and ComplianceManagement experience, 5+ years (preferred). 
  • Consumer Packaged Goods Experience, 3+ years (preferred). 
  • Cannabis industry experience, 3+ years (preferred). 
  • Excellentknowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. 
  • Strong team player who can manage and motivate teams. 
  • Detail-oriented, critical thinker, problem solver, and assessor. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications. 
  • Total Quality Management or other Quality & Regulatory related certifications a plus. 

WORKING CONDITIONS


  • Fast-paced, rapid-changing, retail dispensary environment  
  • Front-facing, customer-care focused areas/stations 
  • Confined workstations near other people (employees, guests, vendors) and crowds 
  • Handling cannabis products and packaged goods  
  • Kneeling, squatting, lifting, bending, walking, pivoting, and long-term standing (all expected activities) 
  • *NOTE: The facility contains confined spaces that may only be accessible by ascending/descending stairwells while traveling throughout building. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, bend, kneel, squat, and twist. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
