ForeFlight is seeking a US-based senior Sales Director, Government & Military Aviation to join our team. This sales account executive will lead field sales efforts for an assigned book of business, ensuring client satisfaction, revenue growth, and retention. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the product portfolio, a strategic approach to managing accounts, and an ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders. In addition, this senior sales account executive will mentor and develop other sales account executives, contributing to the overall success of the Government & Military Aviation sales team.
Responsibilities
- Present and sell company products and services to entities of the US Department of the Air Force, US federal government, and Latin and South American governments.
- Conduct sales activities through virtual meeting software, email and phone communications, and customer visits.
- Demonstrate a strong functional knowledge of the product and offerings portfolio and an ability to communicate their value, specifically ForeFlight and Jeppesen software, data, and services.
- Collaborate with colleagues performing customer success, technical pre-sales, marketing, and lead generation functions.
- Establish and maintain current and potential client relationships.
- Report and record all sales activities in Salesforce CRM software.
- Follow-up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
- Mentor and coach sales account executives, providing guidance, support, and ongoing training to enhance their skills and performance.
- Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
- Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
- Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
- Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
- Identify and help resolve client concerns, working with Sales Admin and Technical Support team.
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to product and support teams and other company staff.
- Lead marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and events.
- Travel domestically and internationally (Latin & South America) up to 50% of the time.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)
- 10+ years of experience preferred but not required in B2B sales of aviation and/or software products and services
- Successful experience selling to the US Government and/or DoD.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships.
- Ability to persuade and influence others.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
- Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and occasional travel across the United States and to Latin & South America.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience)
- US military veteran with aviation operations experience.
- Prior experience in the aviation industry: flight planning, scheduling, dispatching, or as a private, professional, or military pilot.
- Spanish and/or Brazilian Portuguese language skills.
- Functional knowledge of Salesforce CRM software.
- Successful experience selling to the US Air Force.
