Job Purpose
The Account Executive in Enterprise Sales is a key driver of revenue growth, responsible for acquiring and managing new business accounts within large enterprise organizations. This role is essential in identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities, ensuring the company’s financial success and market expansion. The Account Executive will leverage their expertise in sales strategies, relationship management, and industry knowledge to build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients.
They will work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of each customer, fostering long-term partnerships and driving customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Account Executive’s primary responsibility is to increase sales and revenue via acquisition of new customers and projects including:
- Develop and maintain target customer lists that aligns with SageNet’s capabilities, industry focus, and Value Proposition.
- Develop sales strategies to penetrate assigned vertical industries.
- Achieve departmental sales goals and accurately forecast future opportunities.
- Proactively identify and pursue new customer opportunities.
- Proactively leverage existing customers and professional network to identify new customer opportunities.
- Generate new business and actively pursue opportunities identified through RFPs, conferences, tradeshows, inbound phone calls, emails, referrals, social media, and networking.
- Develop and manage relationships with all relevant stakeholders at each prospect.
- Collaborate with key decision makers to identify opportunities and develop ideas that deliver sales results.
- Uncover and understand a prospective company’s needs.
- Work cooperatively with Sales Engineering to develop value-added solutions and deliverables for customer pursuits.
- Work cooperatively with Sales Leadership and Marketing to ensure correct messaging for customer pursuits.
- Work cooperatively with Sales Leadership to develop compelling Value Propositions based on ROI analyses and cost/benefit analyses.
- Work and collaborate with all company departments to deliver a unified customer experience during the entire sales lifecycle process.
- Lead RFP responses by understanding and articulating proposed solution(s), executive summaries and coordinating Proposal Response Teams. Responsible for final RFP submission.
- Create opportunities and maintain all client data within Salesforce. Continuously track and update for proper reporting.
- Lead by example through active participation in use of Sales Tools such as ZoomInfo, and LinkedIn and social media.
- Prepare and present proposals and bids.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with clients that are consistent with SageNet’s goals, objectives, and requirements.
- Participates in company-approved sales training programs.
- Enthusiastically utilizes company-approved sales process to produce results.
Qualifications
- B.A. or B.S. Degree and have a minimum of five years Sales experience
- Must bring integrity, technical knowledge, ability to solve customer problems and passion for sales outcomes
- 5-7 years of experience in Enterprise sales
- Sales experience with some of the following is preferred; Fortinet, Meraki, Cisco, Wi-Fi, VOIP, Managed Network Services, HPE solutions, Pure Data Storage and Veeam Backup solutions
- Ideally, the successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving increased sales through targeted growth initiatives in current market segments and by virtue of implementation of creative strategic marketing initiatives
- Experience with Salesforce.com preferred
- Experience developing and maintaining partner relationships and representing them in customer solutions
- Self-starter with excellent time management and business sales competencies
- Technical aptitude and strong knowledge of computers and the internet
- Excellent writing skills as well as strong persuasive abilities and negotiation skills
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word
Working Conditions
- This position offers flexibility in work arrangements. If you are not located near one of our office locations, you can work fully remote. For those near an office, the role will be hybrid, combining both in-office and remote work. Our hybrid work environment includes 2 mandatory “all-in” days, 1 flexible day, and 2 virtual days each week. Please note that the hybrid work schedule is determined by the specific position and department and may be subject to change based on company policy updates.

Physical Requirements
- Be able to sit for long periods of time without issues
- Be able to stand for long periods of time while giving presentations
- Extensive use of hands and fingers for typing, handling baggage, and paperwork
- Extensive use of eyes for reviewing contracts and data on a computer screen
- 25 – 50% travel, so ability to travel that extensively, and be in planes without issues is required
